Rookie rider Ummi Hamimah made her move too late and saw the gold slip away in the women's junior keirin final.
The 17-year-old Ummi stayed inside the leading pack until the derny (motorised bicycle) moved away and the two Koreans – Kim Sola and Oh Hyeon-ji quickly stormed to the front.
Ummi did manage to beat Hyeon-ji but the gap between the other Korean proved too far and she eventually settled for a second silver medal.
Ummi, making her debut in the Asian meet, had taken silver in the sprint on Friday and was also part of the team sprint bronze medal combination alongside Lauretta Eva Adrian.
Any ordinary cyclist would have been satisfied but a clear- headed Ummi, who was only a reserve in the squad for the Asian meet in Korat last year, felt otherwise.
"I did not win two silvers, I lost two golds. "My strategy did not work as I was bunched inside the group. It's harder as I am racing alone while Taiwan and South Korea had two riders in the final. They can adopt better strategies and decide who goes for the attack," said Ummi, who like top sprinter Azizulhasni Awang, comes from Dungun.
Malaysia thus ended their campaign in the junior ranks without a gold medal this time.
The other silver medal came from Noor Azian Maslin in the women's junior scratch.
